Isometric surface of revolution clutch with skewed rollers is a new kind of overrunningclutch, which transmits torques by friction and has the capacity of bearing. It has thecharacteristics of high load bearing capacity, wedged up tightly and reliably, long sevice lifeand so on, in comparison to ordinary clutch. It is applied in industrial automation, aerospaceand other fields, and has a broad prospect of application. Foreign researchers have do lots ofstudies on it, and it has been widely used to some extent. However, mostly of the researchesof this kind of product in our country is confined to the theoretical study, and its application islimited. So further enquiry of the related practical theories and digitized manufacturing isimperative for the future marketization of this product.This thesis has studied the geometrical and mechanical model of isometric surface ofrevolution clutch with skewed rollers. Firstly, according to the the engagement principle ofconjugate surface, through coordinate transformation, the parametric equations of the contactcurves was established. Then get the mathematical model of inner and outer raceway surfacesby relevant knowledge. Besides, by simplified mechanical models analyze the mechanics ofinner, outer ring and roller.Secondly, according to the parametric equations of contact curves, with the powerfulmolding function of UG established the three-dimensional contact model of isometric surfaceof revolution clutch with skewed rollers. These provide the theories basis and practicefoundation for product digital-structural-design and manufacture.Thirdly, imported the three-dimensional contact model into ANSYS. By way of addingload solution, the analysis of stress field was carried out. The influence which differentstructure parameters exercised on the maximum stress of the clutch was obtained as well asthe rule curves about the maximum von Mises stress, which can provide an effective ways toreduce local stress and raise long sevice life for it.Finally, to achieve the optimal design of isometric surface of revolution clutch withskewed rollers used the main structure parameters as optimal design variables, by polynomialfitting to the rule curves about the maximum von Mises stress which gained from the differentstructure parameters situations, establishing object function and constraint condition. With thehelp of Matlab-GADS for optimal design of it and the optimizing data has been verified to be correct through comparison. It will provide effective way and more perfect theoreticalfoundation for it’s design and application.
