In recent years, with the development of society, the progress of science and technology as well as the continuous improvement of living standards, the ways and approaches of the health care have been greatly changed. Especially the heart diseases, the consciousness of people’s prevention and protection become more and more strongly for its latent and sudden. The portable ECG monitor which combines the advanced technology and the clinical medical treatment, gets the ECG signal and the diagnosis result of cardiac function conveniently and quickly, And it can also provide the reliable basis on daily care for people. The detection and feature parameter extraction of ECG signal wave are the key points of the portable ECG monitor, and the accuracy of detection and reliability of the system decides the result of diagnosis and even the success or failure on saving patients’ lives. Therefore, the research and implementation of real-time and accurate portable ECG monitor detection algorithm have a very important and practical significance.In ECG signal detection, there are some characteristic waves-needed to be extracled, for example mainly QRS waves, P wave and T wave and their position, amplitude, duration time, and so on. Then we can calculate the parameters of RR interphase, QRS interphase, P-R interphase and the P wave form characteristics. According to these parameters, the doctor can obtain some diagnostic reference to judge the heart state. With the ECG, not only the users can monitor the heart state at any time, but also the patient can know his illness situation in real time, then taking some treatments timely through the result detected. A good detection algorithm is a reliability reflect of the portable ECG monitor’s performance, the detecting result can timely reflect heart disease through the simple operation with a good interaction of human-computer interaction. This article can finish the above design requirements and it has realized the intelligent function of the portable ECG monitor.The article proposed a method which combine difference computing and adaptive threshold method, the method can detect positive and negative R waves,and wrong and leak detect compensation strategy is used to improve R wave accuracy rate.This method overcome the others’poor real time,and solve the wrong and leak detect problem caused by the fixed threshold.The prior knowledge and windowing method are used to detect Q waves,S waves, P waves and T waves.the algorithm is able to complete ECG characteristic parameters extraction, these parameters include QRS wave duration,P wave amplitude and T wave amplitude ect.and it can also detect the P wave waveform feature.After designing the algorithm,the algorithm is tested to the ECG signal from the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database on MATLAB,the result shows the algorithm have a high accuracy rate,and then, the algorithm is realized on the ARM9processor with Win CE operate system,the application program interface is writed by the Embeded Visual C++4.0to realize real time display,and the result can be saved a text.Finally, the whole system is debugged, and the debugging steps and results are showed, as well as analyze the error analysis and contrast of the detection result. The experiment results show that this algorithm in the article can realize portable ECG monitor design requirements. After a lot of experiments, the result shows that this algorithm can make the system runs stably, and the detect result is very reliable, and could be applied in production practice.
