In industrial equipment of heat transfer, fouling affects on heat transfer, andcauses the extreme waste of energy and economic losses. The integrated heatexchanger works of plate heat exchanger is best. Widely used in various industrialfields. This article will focus on composite fouling that is composed by the mostcommon of the particulate fouling and crystallization fouling. Study fouling impacton the heat transfer characteristics of plate heat exchanger.Firstly, study the particulate fouling of plate heat exchanger in different mediumparameters and water quality parameters. The fouling resistance changecharacteristics. Experimental results show: the particulate fouling of plate heatexchanger has not apparent induction period. The fouling rate and asymptotic valueof fouling resistance increases vary with increasing concentration, and the increase isreducing. The faster the smaller the particle size the faster scaling rate in the sameconcentration, the greater the resistance of fouling hot. Fouling rate of the highvelocity is slightly larger than that of the low flow rate. The asymptotic value offouling resistance at a steady flow rate is less than that of the low flow rate. Effects oftemperature change on the particulate fouling are not very large.Secondly, study the composite fouling (crystallization and particulate) of plateheat exchanger in different medium parameters and water quality parameters, thefouling resistance change characteristics. Experimental results show: the compositefouling of plate heat exchanger has no apparent induction period. With the increase ofconcentration, the fouling rate and asymptotic value of fouling resistance tended toincrease. With the increase of the particle size, the fouling rate and asymptotic valueof fouling resistance decrease. With the increase of Water hardness, fouling ratefirstly decreases and then increases, asymptotic value of fouling resistance tends toincrease. With the speeding up of the velocity, fouling rate increases, but asymptotic value of fouling resistance has an obvious decrease process. Effect of temperaturechange on the particulate fouling rate and asymptotic value of fouling resistance arenot very large.
