From the beginning of2007, the Chinese car quantity has been rapidlygrowing, the average growth rate per year is above10%. Especially, afterAmerican monetary crisis, the world economy go into weak situation, Chinagovernment push a number of actions to excite internal economyincrease,in order to keep high economy growth rate and improve theexployment rate. Automotive industry have big pull effect on Upstreamand downstream industries, it is regarded pillar industry and supportedin many provinces. Many vehicle companies producing ability acceleratedincrease, super highways length extend rapidly, more and more peoplehave the ability to purchase and use the car for income increase, allthese provide good chance for Chinese automotive industrydevelopment.From2010, Chinese become the No1country of vehicle’smanufacture and sales in stead of American in the world. But it is chanceand also is a challenge at the same time. The sudden increasement ofvehicle quantity bring heavy emission problem and heavy traffic issue.Recently, the serious atmospheric haze appear in many Chinese big cities, the phenomenon give an alert to Chinese. The air pollution must becontrolled or people will pay for it with health damaged. A specialistever say that the air pollution is very serious in Guang Zhou city, blacklung are found in many people over40years old for the excessiveabsorption of particulate. In order to keep the vehicle emission in safelimitation, government will carry out the vehicle Stg4emissionregulation in national range in2013July and plan to make huge investmentto help oil refiners to improve the fuel quality. Government hope thatthe action can avoid to follow the old way of Euro that is improve theenviroment status after serious pollution. Before the regulation isimplemented in nation, Beijing put the Beijing Heavy duty Stg4emissionregulation into action in2010Jan. The action can improve the air qualityand set a good example and make some research. This article is make somegradual summary about the research that4D24heavy duty engine how to meetthe Stg4emission requirement. The research is also a JMC product programabout improvement of JMC Vehilce emission, selecting DPF+EGR as techniquesolution of V series vehicle. Make in-depth research in the solutionapplication and provide some reference for Stg4emission controllingtechnique application in other program. Article contents is as below:1. Base on the analysis and comparison among national main emssioncontrolling techniques of heavy duty engine, choose the right emissionone for V series’ vehicle.2. Base on analysis of JMC Stg34D24diesel engine, provide the Requirement of engine hardware and its control strategy, setting theengineering target.3. Use the AVL boost software to make simulation calculation of engineperformance and engine raw emission as the theory basement of sampleengine development4. Make the engine performance calibration and base mapping setting, calculate the ESC cycle test point. Calibrate the engine, make engine ESCemission value to meet the engineering target.5. Define the DPF and its regeneration device specifition and make thestrategy of DPF regeneration, make sure that the tail pipe emission canmeet engineering target and the DPF system can reliably work6. Accoring to national market fuel charateristic, do the special testsabout the DPF system in the Sgt3fuel using, in order to find solutionto reduce the defect of DPF coating in current maket application.According to requirement of4D24engine emission contoling upgradationto Stg4regulation, select DPF+EGR as technique solution of V seriesvehicle. Make in-depth research in the solution application and providesome reference for Stg4emission controlling technique application inother program.
