Since this century, deterioration of the environment and shortage of energy have beenbecoming the focus of attention of all countries, human beings must to find the newalternative energy and efficient energy devices for sustainable development as soon aspossible. In this case, biomass with its renewable, convenience for storing and transporting,high-efficience for converting, free-pollution, small regional restriction and low-cost, aregenerally concerned by energy development workers all over the world,The developmentand utilization of biomass is essential for future.Currently, little about the combustion theory of the biomass pellet briquette and itsdedicated boilers is known by Chinese researchers. This paper is mainly about a dedicatedboiler with peanut shell pellet fuel, which is designed through studying the combustioncharacteristics of peanut shell pellet and the atmospheric hot water boiler. Then a platform isbuilt to test performance of the boiler in the help of some equipments. A large number ofexperiments have been done in the test platform, these systematic researches about thethermal and emission characteristics of the boiler may provide valuable advices for futurestudy of biomass briquette boilers. Specific of the paper are as follows:(1) Lots of experiments with peanut shell pellet fuel using SDACM-2000auto industryanalyzer, SDACM-3000-3000automatic calorimeter, SDAF2000d meltback automatic testerand the thermal gravimetric analyzer designed independently by Jilin University provide alarge number of datas, from which the basic ingredients, low calorific, slaggingcharacteristics index and its combustion characteristics of the peanut shell pellet fuel havebeen got.(2) Considering the combustion characteristics and mode of the peanut shell particles,referencing the design of the hot water boiler, and learning from previous design, a peanutshell pellet fuel boilers with appropriate layer parameters of burning furnace was developed.(3) Using the peanut shell pellet fuel biomass furnace as the main body, combining withappropriate cooling system, cooling water circulation system, temperature measurementsystem, the efficient experimental platform about clean peanut shell pellet fuel furnace werebuild. Some tests about its performances were done under a variety of operating conditions,specific conclusions are as follows: A. The best operating ways for efficient clean peanut shell pellet furnace are to make thefuel regulating valve at half-open and to feed fuel continuously and uniformly to balancematerial thickness stabilized at around70~100mm.B. In the best condition, the effective power of the peanut shell particulate fuel biomassfurnace is over10KW, the concentration of CO is more than8000ppm, the boiler positivebalance efficiency is less than75%, which are closed to the design requirements.C. The reasons why the concentration of CO is too high are mainly about less wind isgiven First time wind and not enough mixture degree of high temperature flue gas mixed inthe second combustion chamber disturbance.(4) The CFD software which is used to simulation and analysis for efficient clean peanutshell pellet fuel furnace verified the accuracy of the inference, then a step-by-stepimprovement program were given.(5) The performance tests of the final efficient clean peanut shell pellet fuel furnace in avariety of operating conditions seek its best way to run, when the feeding thickness ofmaterial is stable at70~100mm and a secondary wind assigned ratio is55%make its COconcentration less than400ppm, which prove the modification design is feasible.In summary, this paper analysis of large amounts of experience data to get the finalresults, which may provide a reference for future biomass pellet fuel burning equipmentresearch.
