Tower solar power generation is an important form of solar thermal utilization. In tower solar thermal power generation, the focusing accuracy of heliostat plays a decisive role in work efficiency of generation station. This paper studies on the closed-loop adaptive control strategy of heliostat. By combining the model reference adaptive control theory with heliostat tracking system, form a closed-loop adaptive heliostat tracking system to enhance the accuracy of altitude-azimuth tracking angle. When heliostat tracking model is created, for the sake of constructing a more accurate simulation model which is closer to the actual system, this paper takes the geometric errors of the heliostat into account in modeling. In this paper, Hartley-Meyer algorithm is introduced to identify the geometric errors of heliostat. The results of the identification are precise. The closed-loop adaptive heliostat tracking system is simulated via MATLAB/SIMULINK platform. Simulation results show that the introduction of adaptive control brings positive effects on heliostat tracking system. The accuracy of the altitude-azimuth tracking angle is promoted, and moreover, the capability of anti-interference is enhanced.
