Shiploader is one kind of port machinery used for the ship loading operation of bulk material vessels. Its dynamic performance is one of the major factor for shiploader’s safety and stability, because its dead weight load is large and it works in complex conditions. Currently, the researchers of mechanical properties for shiploaders have mainly concentrated on the aspects of static analysis on the whole shiploaders’strength, the study of concerned dynamics behavior for shiploaders are rare in literature. Therefore the researches of dynamic mechanical behavior for shiploaders have important theoretical and engineering significance..In this paper, the12000t/h shiploader is taken as the research object, analysed by using software ADAMS. The main research contents is to observe kinematic performances and the influences of inertia force on the structure, during shiploader does pitching motion, rotating motion and gantry travel without loads. The research works in this paper are as follows:1) Combine the structures and operating mechanisms’ characteristics of shiploaders, the speeds of operating mechanisms are determined. The force characteristics of boom derrick cylinder and the boom hinge pin are analysed during pitching motion, by kinematic mathematical model built.2) Based on the3D modeling capabilities of Solidworks and the dynamic simulation technology of ADAMS, the virtual prototype model of the luffing mechanism is built. Then, kinematics simulation of shiploader is carried on, and the kinematic performances of main structures are analysed during pitching motion and rotating motion3) The rigid-flexible coupled multi-body system of shiploader is built based on the combine between ANSYS and ADAMS. The dynamics simulation of shiploader is carried on, and the influences of the dynamic response working on the shiploader structures and the drive systems are analysed, in the process of start-up or brake during pitching motion, rotating motion and gantry travel. The conclusions provide references for the steel structural design of shiploader, especially for the strength analyses. The conclusions also can become bases for the design of power supplies, and provide helps for motion control and vibration reduction.
