Portal structures is a kind of the important load-carrying structure of crane whose mechanical property effect the whole machine's running directly. At present, on the designing and fault diagnosing of portal structures from portal crane, there are two fellow problems under solution: 1) In the past, in design and checking computations only do structural analysis to metal structure of cranes at work in the dangerous locations seemed in experience such as initial, intermediate and so on, do not know the mechanics parameters such as stress which in the whole work process from vehicles lifting loads to terminate. It is mainly due to that the practical work is too cumbersome and impossible. The first problem that has been solved in this paper is the numerical movement simulation of the crane portal structures' work in the entire process. 2) The dynamic responds of the whole portal structures is unknown when the hoisting mechanism start or brake, it have a strong impact on the structure of the portal structures. Pointed to the above two problems, based on the finite element method (FEM) and mechanic vibration theory and using parameterized method and the FEM simulation software-ANSYS, this dissertation studies the numerical simulation of the portal structures as the vehicles lifting loads and it's dynamic characters and responses while the portal is lifting and develops a relevant portal kinematics and dynamics numerical simulation software. The main research contents and results of the dissertation are as fellows:1) To build a portal structure's parameterized FEM model using ANSYS internal command—APDL and parameterized method. It is conveniently and quickly to modify and recalculate the model in FEM analyzing.2) To realize the moving crane numerical simulation. The simulation animation and curves acquired from the simulation have practical engineering value.3) To study the portal structure's dynamic characters. To program a commandstream file, gain the first 10 former natural frequency and mode shapes, and finally analyze the results.4) To study the dynamic respond while load lifting suddenly. To program a command file of transient analyze that the vehicle with full load at span centre, obtain the dynamic response results including the portal beam's vertical displacement, vertical velocity, normal acceleration and temporal response curve.5) To use the Windows message mechanism and Visual Basic in order to pack up the above simulation results. To develop a software of portal structure's kinematics and dynamic numerical simulation whose interface is friend and convenient.
