Sandwich structure has been widely used in high-speed trains, aerospace engineering, building construction, automobile manufacturing, shipyards. It has become the main structure with light weight, high specific stiffness, high specific strength, sound and shock absorption, cushioning resistance, strength toughness, flexible design capacity according to the actual needs, high-energy absorption, anti-collision resistance, electromagnetic shielding, etc. Corrugated core sandwich panel is one of sandwich structures. Compared to conventional sandwich structures, the core layer using a metal material having certain intensity to replace the soft material such as foam or the others, and the panels are connected together using advanced laser welding technology.In this paper, the numerical simulations for the three-point bending of the corrugated core sandwich structure for the floor of high-speed trains are analyzed by the FE software—ABAQUS.First of all, in order to prove the validity of the FE analysis, the numerical simulation value is compared with experimental value and theoretical value. Then the responses of the sandwich structure under different directions (cross-machine direction, machine direction) and different corrugated core panel arrangements (M, W) are analyzed. As a result, the flexural rigidity of sandwich structure in the machine direction is2.78times than that in the cross-machine direction, the strength of sandwich panels in the M-core arrangement is2.25times than W-core arrangement in the machine direction. Finally, the responses of the M—corrugated core sandwich structure under different sectional parameters and material properties are analyzed by the finite element software in the machine direction, conclusions are as follows:(1) With single variable parameter of cross-section parameters increasing, bending stiffness of corrugated sandwich structure has different amplitude increases, but non-linear relationship.(2) Plate thickness and the core plate height increase will improve the strength of sandwich structure, however, corner radius increase will decrease the strength with small amplitude. (3) Material properties of the plates will not affect the quality and bending stiffness of sandwich structure without the strength. Top plate easily being utilized is the main load-bearing part.(4) The bending stiffness comes mainly from top and bottom panels. The core board plays a supportive role and provides less bending stiffness. The panel appropriate increasing and core panel appropriate decreasing will improve the bending stiffness and reduce the total mass.The above analysis results for the application of corrugated sandwich structure provide technical support, with certain guiding significance and valuable reference in the structural design.
