In the deep see,during the millions of years' evolution,sponges has developed the special structure to adapt their survival environment.In this thesis,three kinds of lightweight structures were designed,based on the microstructure of the glass sponge.Analysis and comparison of static properties such as compression,torsion and bending of four lightweight structures using ANSYS Workbench.The results showed that the bio-sponge structure II has excellent mechanical properties.To verify the reliability of finite element analysis,the bio-sponge and honeycomb samples were made with the rapid prototyping.Two kinds of light-weight sandwich pipe were designed with the bio-sponge or honeycomb structure as inserted layer,and compared their light-weight numbers and specific stiffness,showed that the index of the bio-sponge sandwich tube was better than that of the honeycomb sandwich tube.In addition to the static performance,the stability of two kinds of thin walled tubes were analyzed and compared by using the linear buckling module of ANSYS Workbench.The bio-sponge sandwich pipe's stability of anti-compress and anti-torsion were better than the honeycomb sandwich pipe's.In this thesis,based on the molding process and heat treatment,two kinds of paving methods were designed to make bio-sponge structure II light-weight pipe with carbon fiber pre impregnated fabric,and tested their static performance.In addition,the same samples were fabricated with aluminum alloy to compared the properties of the structure with carbon fiber's.
