In recent years, energy scarcity and environmental pollution promotes rapid development of wind industry, and its quality level lags behind the growth, therefore, to improve the performance has become a pressing problem. As one of the wind turbine components, which are high-cost and has high failure rate, the performance of gearbox restrict the whole quality level. The research on the comprehensive evaluation of gearbox will be helpful to get design parameters rationalized and performance optimal. It has positive significance in development of gearbox.This paper takes wind turbine speed-increase gearbox as the research object, and the comprehensive evaluation of its performance was investigated with the help of numerical calculation and simulation analysis. On the basis of using the theory model to evaluate schemes, evaluation values were compared with each other. The main works are as follows:(1) Considering characteristics of the speed-increase gearbox, the index system that including reliability, volume and dynamic characteristics was established, and how to carry on index preconditioning was also discussed. Based on subjective weight and linear weighting method, the evaluation system of wind turbine was derived.(2) According to the main failure forms of gear, shaft and bearing, reliability models were derived, and then the effect of parameters on the stress and reliability was studied. Furthermore, the system reliability was calculated by establishing its reliability model.(3) The3D model of speed-increase gearbox was founded and analyzed to get natural frequencies and root mean square values of vibration acceleration for key bearings. By changing parameter values, influence rules were concluded with the analysis of numerical results.(4) The performance evaluation model which has been built was used to solve the practical problem. According to different starting points, weight vectors were determinated, and under these conditions schemes were evaluated in order to be ranked.
