Under China’s high speed of urbanization, rural development has also followed the steps of the city. Gradually they lost their direction and their own character. With the global energy crisis and pollution problems, the development of agriculture should become the premise of rural construction. Therefore, we proposed the theory of "integration of living, producting and ecology", inwhich agricultural facilities are combined with rural living space to resolve the problems. This paper is aimed to reveal the problem of today’s rural development and to come up with three original designs to help optimizing rural development and living space, applying the thoery above, and many other related technologies. The theme of this paper is the reconstruction of rural living space, basing on the data from the documents and research in field. Through the quantitative analysis, it uncovers the lack of organizations of villages around Jinan and the necessity of research on the subject. To this question, the study is focus on the reconstruction of rural living space with the "integration of living, production and ecology". This paper gradually analysis the actual problem at three different hierarchical levels, explaining the reconfiguration mode and related technology. At last proposing three designs for Lejia village nearby Jinan as an example. This paper is divided into6chapters. The first chapter is introduction, explaining the background, content, purpose, method and the meaning of the research. The second chapter gives a overview of related theories. And taking the villages around Jinan as example, to shows that in order to achieve the self-sufficiency of water, nutrient and energy,in other words, balance between living, production and ecology, they still need a series of discussions about the space and technology. The space reconstruction of living units at different hierarchical levels are discussed in Chapter3, aiming at the existing problems in rural development. In this chapter, the study of space reconstruction was divided into three parts-the building scale, the courtyard scale and the village scale. It’s evident that under village scale, reconstruction of rural living space with "integration of living, producting and ecology" is favorable for the rural development and the circulation system is also better. Considering many possile modes in reconstruction of living space, using agricultural production as an important link, and the integration of living, production and ecology as a tool, they do give us lots of inspirations of future development in rural areas. New technology involved in the study is expounded in Chapter4. It includes some technology involved in water circulation, energy circulation and nutrient circulation. There are also analysis of technology system and relevant case. In Chapter5, Lejia Village of Zhangqiu Town in Jinan was brought up as a case. Space reconstruction mode and related technology were applied to the conceptual design of this village. Three different modes of conceptual design are rised and proved feasible using equilibrium analysis. The sixth chapter, the conclusion part of thesis, sum up the contents and points out problems remained to study on in the future. It can be concluded that it is feasible to combine agricultural facilities with living spaces and push for-ward the development in the rural region by reconstruction of living space Reconstruction of rural living space under integration of living, production and ecology can make China’s rural development and rural living environment better.
