Electricity network’s fault will affect power system’s safety and reliability directly.The development of current society economic and the progress in electric power marketreform increase demands on the reliability of the power plant. Determining the faultarea and fault type accurately can shorten the time in disposing fault, achieve quickrecovery after power supply failure and reduce the economic losses caused by poweroutage. Use Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system to collect data, then usethe fault diagnosis to analysis data, fault features of the scene and neutral point voltagefor determining the scope of the fault and fault type, which is now urgent needs for themajority of the power department. SCADA system is widely used and plays veryimportant roles in a variety of fields, each field has its own specific requirements to theSCADA system, so the dedicated SCADA system could no longer meet modernrequirement. While the SCADA system after several generations of development hasushered in the.NET era, its adaptability is greatly improved. This paper studies the BPneural network in SCADA system in power grid fault diagnosis process application.Establish an interface, which includes SCADA system module and fault diagnosismethod. When a fault occurs in a power system, system can analyze fault rangeaccording to the data received and identify the fault type according to the faultcharacteristics and the neutral point voltage, it is a powerful auxiliary tool for analysisof grid fault to diagnose fault, it will be applied more and more widely in the future.This system is on the platform of Windows and SQL2000environment usingVB.NET programming to achieve and designed by modular method, it mainly includesthe MI project, SCADA configuration, transformer, map editing, personnel managementand fault diagnosis. Grid fault diagnosis method uses BP neural network diagnosismethod.Firstly, this article describes the current status of SCADA system,.NET Platformtechnology and the structure of SCADA system. It introduces the network’s common fault and method of SCADA system receiving data, then introduces the training methodof BP neural network fault diagnosis and applies BP neural network method forsimulation.Finally runs specific module in the overall system, including the overallstructure design, system realization etc.
