With the rapid expansion of the size of the cities and the sharp growth in travel demand, severe congestion occurs in a lot of large and medium-sized cities in China, especially in big cities such as Beijing, which brings a great deal of inconvenience. Intelligent transportation, as an important means to solve the problem, has become a social consensus. In the next few years, the transportation industry will build "bus city" and improve the safety and service ability of the public transport system, with the technology of the Internet of Things, vehicle network, cloud computing and mobile Internet, to promote the rapid development of intelligent transportation industry.In this thesis, the real time public transport query system is a branch of the real-time transportation system. It combines the technology of mobile Internet and GPS location to provide real-time bus position, remind user the upcoming station, estimate real time traffic, forecast arrival time of the bus through the user’s mobile phone positioning. So the information of real time public transport can be predicted before people’s traveling.In this thesis, we firstly analyze the background and significance of the research of real-time public transport query system, and introduce the key technology used in the system, including Geographic Information System, GPS, server-side and browser-side development technologies. Then the thesis introduces the requirements analysis of the system. The main part of the thesis is the design and implementation of the system and public transportation network topology modeling. Firstly we briefly introduce of the overall architecture of the system and interactive processes in this part. And then we focus on the description of the design of the system database, the crawling and update of the data of public transportation, bus station clustering and the design and implementation of server-side and browser-side in this system from the aspect of interactive processes and concrete realization. In the part of public transportation network topology modeling, we analyze the characteristics of the public transport network and the traditional modeling methods firstly. And then we put forward a hierarchical modeling method based on maximal clique and the degree of bus station and have experiments on the public transportation database we have. Finally the function of the system is tested through a simulated environment test which proves the effectiveness of the system.In the end, we make a summary of the full text, describe the existing deficiencies and possible further work of the system, and append work and results during the master graduate student period.
