This work studies the static and dynamic behaviors of the aluminum alloy extrusion profiles employed in a specific high-speed train, by Finite Element Method (FEM). Attentions are paid to the following four aspects.Structural analyses are performed for the aluminum alloy. The influence of geometries of the ribs on the mechanical behavior of the structure are discussed. The intrinsic dynamic characteristics, such as frequency and modes, of the external floor of the alloy, are numerically calculated. The cut-on frequency of the structure is also given. An acoustic model is established on the basis of the statistical energy analysis. This model, proven to be valid, takes into account the structural damping factor and position of constrained damping layer. The effect of the thickness of the constrained damping layer is evaluated in terms of the damping effect, transmission loss and sound radiation coefficient. In addition, the average amount of noise and the weighted sound reduction are also presented.
