In recent years, with the development of the New Chinese style garden, the request of design must be more rigorous. New Chinese style garden accede and develop the traditional courtyard on the basis of the modern design context and the background of life. It is not plagiarism and absorption without creating, but the development of Chinese traditional courtyard which combines the modern design factors. For example, the collision of the constitute elements of their traditional courtyard and new material、the simplifier of the traditional courtyard design elements.The definition of "courtyard" in this topic:the space or interface of the building to surround close and into space. The definition of New Chinese style garden:with a new Chinese style courtyard. In this article, the New Chinese style garden is refers to the space that combine with some the tangible and the intangible interface (the form of psychological hint) or which is formed by the buildings, It is different from traditional courtyard, It is not necessarily close to outside and open to inside, it can also be a foreign half open, the domestic open, everything depends on specific conditions.Due to its special development history, and its diverse factors such as the history of the form, the Traditional courtyard are not adaptive in contemporary life idea, the role of architectural space and so on. Such as the adaptability of traditional courtyard: Variety of space, and the natural affinity, sensibility, color space, humanistic, etc; not adaptability:the seal of the space and its enclosing object, the low volume rate, the waste rate of lumber, construction level, cumbersome external form and so on. All these problems need to solve one by one. This article mainly studies about New Chinese style garden design features and design methods. In this paper, by comparing several typical case to analysis, factor analysis, the types of artistic conception analysis, we concluded that the new Chinese style garden for inheritance and innovation of traditional courtyard-opening, developing, changing and concluding.①The new Chinese style garden space design, can be "integration" type design method. ②The design method of "form" in the new Chinese style garden elements:"form" refers to the elements of external aspects such as shape, material, color, three methods of design:from the "complex" to "simple","replace" and "deconstruction" and "restructuring".③Contemporary design of new Chinese style garden has a lot of misconceptions, copied, misuse is not desirable, new Chinese style garden should have a new connotation temperament-the art and life.
