Linear motors with numbers of advantages had been widely used in various fields in our life. While, there were some limited factors:for the DC linear motor, magnetic saturation made it difficult to be long; as for the synchronous or induction linear motor, it was too hard to fulfill the requirement of variable frequency power supplies. To achieve the goal of long distance、strong force and high speed without accurate control systems, a new style of DC linear motor was developed based on the idea of modularization. And some deep research had been done as well.Firstly, the progresses in research and application of linear motors were presented; And some mathematic formulas about the driving force、(magnetic flux density) in the gap and in the stator were given. And some simulation was done to verify the rules of B of a Linear motor.Secondly, some research on a new style of DC linear motor was done, as well as some simulation on its driving force caused by the width of stators and the value of armature current. Besides, some research on detent force caused by the gap between two stator-modules was done. Modularize design of the stator was put forward to attenuate magnetic saturation.Thirdly, composed of four stator-modules and two movers, with a total length of2m, a DC linear motor was built. With which, three experiments were completed, proving the correctness of the analysis method and the conclusions. Both the results of simulation and experiment showed that, modularize design of the stator could attenuate magnetic saturation efficiently. This made it possible to build a longer DC linear motor without much force decrease, while the mover suffered a strong detent force which brought out some force fluctuation.Lastly, an anti-saturation structure of "D" was put forward; while to achieve the optimization of force fluctuation, three methods ("U"、 skewed slots、dislocation) to improve the structure of a stator were proposed, as well as permutation of the movers.
