Urban rail transit system has been in increasingly development and offered convenience to citizens. Meanwhile, it comes important to solve the problem of energy consumption and higher operating costs. Electric energy is the main consumption in urban rail transit, especially the traction energy consumption. Therefore, it’s a significant research subject of energy conservation and environmental protection to meet the requirements of operation in urban rail transit.Efficiently lowering the operating cost and improving economic returns are meaningful to research of optimization of train energy consumption. So we have to model train operation, then calculate the consumption precisely to optimize energy consumption.According to the above requirements, we have established a simulation system of energy consumption of urban rail transit based on CBTC. We can acquire performance index of energy consumption and performance analysis report of graphical presentation by configurating the civil data, vehicle parameters and signal system parameters. And by analysing energy consumption and speed state from the point of CBTC operation control, we can provide a theoretical basis to the optimization of energy consumption. The system is based on the cooperative project of Southwest JiaoTong University and the China Railway Eryuan Institute. It follows the safety braking model of IEEE1474.1and builds the train speed adjustment model. We have analyzed the model of dynamics and energy consumption calculation from the point of train operation, and combined time slice and displacement to optimize energy consumption based on the simulation result.According to the civil data of Chengdu Line I and vehicle parameters of type B. the system has simulated automatic operation in different conditions such as pull in/pull out, traction/braking, cruise/coasting. From this, we get the performance indexes of speed state, section time, traction/braking force, and traction energy consumption/regenerative braking energy. And on this basis, we have combined train operation organization and line design, and analyzed the optimization of energy consumption from three aspects:absorption and utilization of regenerative braking energy, adjustment of train operation level and design of energy saving line. The system have quantitatively analyzed speed state and energy consumption of different lines and types, so as to provide reference for design and test of urban rail transit, and this is important to decrease operation cost, energy conservation and environmental protection.
