As the growth of the economy and population, the urbanization development of the majorcities in China is very fast. In this process, the demand for urban construction land is so strongthat three-dimensional development has become an inevitable trend. The development of the underground space in China has gradually developed from singleunderground civil defense facilities to the large-scale underground commercial street, even allkinds of commercial complex. In recent years, along with the economical and socialdevelopment, the function underground space can accommodate gradually becomecomplicated. The cost of the underground space development is very high, which causerelated departments and scholars began to explore how to integrate the underground spacewith more complex function and optimize underground space development in order to achieveefficient and intensive land use.In view of this, this paper starting from the background of domestic underground spacedevelopment, combined with the practical experience of urban underground space at homeand abroad, with the integrated design of underground space in the urban core as the studyobject, through the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the large underground space athome, put forward the problems existing in the design and development process ofunderground space. And proposed a design method used in the primary land developmentphase, call “integrated design strategy”. At last, through analysis the character of the projectof the Southern District of Beijing Olympic Green and the design strategy used in the project, the author obtained how to use the integrated design strategy to highly integrate theground/underground space and improve land benefits.
