This study is based on the determination of the first generation of Xin Hua E stain hens, which containing 36 families including 1428 individuals and were cultivated by Hubei animal ecology development limited company. We collected 7 clutch traits and 8 egg quality traits to estimate variance component and genetic parameter by Excel and DMU softwares, and utilized Compartmental Model, Wood Model as well as its Modified Form, and Yangning Model to simulate weekly laying rate of local laying hens Xin Hua E multiplication strain (for short Xin Hua E strain hens).The results are as follows:1. Weekly laying rate curve simulation of Xin Hua E strains hensYangning Model with its fitting degree (R2) reached as high as 0.95526 was the best model in the four models, followed by Compartmental Model with R20.95097, and Modified form of Wood Model which was the worst one. At the sixth week after postpartum, the laying rate of Xin Hua E strain hens reached the peak with 87.19% laying rate and then gradually decreased. It decreased to 65% after the fifteenth week. And this were closed to the curve predicted results of Yangning Model.2. Potential of hens thelongest clutch and its application to genetic improvement of egg laying traitGenetic parameters of clutch(including LCS, CL, LSC, LSW, LPW) and other egg laying traits(ASM,300EN) were estimated by DMU software. The results shows that the genetic correlation between LCS and 300EN was 0.74; The genetic correlation of LCS-LSC, LCS-LSW and LCS-LPW were-0.28,-0.13 and 0.66 respectively. Heritability of LCS was 0.21, which was a moderate heritability. And heritability of LSC, LSW and LPW were 0.06、0.09 and 0.14 respectively, which affected by environmental factors were all low heritabilities.In view of LCS usually appears between the 5 and 8 week after the beginning of the birth (130 days after the beginning of the birth), and the heritability of LCS was moderate and Strong genetic correlation with 300EN, We suggesting chosing the LCS as an indicator of indirect selection in the genetic improvement of the local layers’egg production.3. Genetic parameter estimation of the longest clutch and egg qualityAll the phenotypes and genetic correlation coefficients between LCS and EW, HU, YW, YC, AW were not high. And genetic correlation coefficients between LCS and SI, SW, SS were 0.61,-0.49 and-0.31 respectively, which explained that the correlation coefficients between LCS and SI, SW, SS were high, but were unfavorable genetic correlation between LCS and SW, SS, so it should arouse attention when it was used.
