Intercropping can use resources efficiently and enhance crop yield enormously.Water andfarmland are kinds of resources as the most limiting elements for plant growth all over theworld. Resources used efficient can be improved by selecting suitable cropintercropped.Intercropping can solve increasing population and resource exhaustion, deteriorationof the environment, so attracts more and more people attention. The melon (varietyYindi),sunflower(edible sunflower variety LD5009,oil sunflower variety Ai Datou) as materials.In melon beginning flower, fruiting, expanding period intercropping edible sunflower and oilsunflower, investigate intercropping system use light energy, heat, water, fertilizer efficiently. Inorder to enrich the intercropping theory, optimize crop technical facilities, provide scientific basis,in the service of agricultural development efficiency of resource and the farmers practice. Themain results were as follows:(1)During the first flowering for melon vine long significantly lower than the control, theother time periods no significant difference between the interc ropping treatment and control.melon maturity, flowering period for processing the melon plant leaf area was significantly higherthan other treatments, the leaf area of flowering intercropping treatment were higher than control2%,3.8%.(2) The quality of production of melon intercropping influence is not significant, comparedcontrol, intercropping reduce sugar content.(3)The melon in use of≥10℃heat resource achieve64.9%,the oil sunflower can achieve81.8%,the edible sunflower in use of≥10℃heat resource achieve87.1%,but intercropping systemcan achieve97%,95.3%.(4) Intercropping improved the melon when the light energy utilization mature leaves andwater use efficiency, swollen as sunflowers during leaf net photosynthetic rate and light energyutilization rate was significantly higher than the was a sunflower, expand period intercrop ediblesunflower processing the net photosynthetic rate and light energy utilization expand period ediblesunflower compared treatment and the growth rate were26.7%and26.8%, expand periodintercrop oil sunflower processing the net photosynthetic rate and light energy utilization expandperiod crop oil sunflower compared treatment and the growth rate were5.7%and5.8%. (5) Intercropping melon from0cm place geothermal to5cm in general are below groundtemperature data when melon maturity.(6) Intercropping improved the melon mature leaves water used efficient, water on the benefitfrom unilateral, intercropping have achieved good results.
