In the context of rapid urbanization，the natural vegetation is break down，causingthe soil bare，a lot of impervious pavement is replaced by the original function ofself-infiltration soil，When the rains come，producing a large amount of stormwaterrunoff，which aggravating the force of rain on soil erosion and causing soil erosion，meanwhile leading to the generation of large amounts of sediments，these sedimentsare long-term siltation in the river system that continually threatening the safety of thewater quality，threatening the waterfront space eco-environment.The water is indispensable to human survival as the natural resources，protectingthe health of the river water，controlling the water pollution is directly related to thehealthy survival and development of the human. Based on these，the thesis proposes amethod of the soil erosion and sediment control planning in the waterfront space，exploring a health-oriented spatial planning approaches in the waterfront，in order toreduce soil erosion and sediment hazards，protect river water quality，protect theecological environment of water space.The paper analyzes the developments trends and research progress of waterfrontspace at home and abroad as well as soil erosion and sediment control，combing thetheoretical approach related to this paper，establishing the framework system of thesoil erosion and sediment control plan in the waterfront space，including soil erosionand sediment formation，classification and influencing factors; the control principles，the planning process and planning content. At the same time，exploring the controlplanning measures in depth，and through practical case studies，applying thetheoretical framework in the actual planning case，by linking theory with practiceenhance the operability and effectiveness of the thesis.By researching of the soil erosion and sediment control methods on thewaterfront space，in theory，promote the waterfront space for eco-design methods，in practice，provide the reasonable and effective control approach of the soil erosionand sediment in the waterfront space，achieving the significance of protecting the riverwater quality and the ecological environment of the waterfront space.
