Purple cai-tai(B. campestris L.ssp Chinensis L.var. utilis Tsen et Lee.2n=2x=20) is a specialty vegetable of our country and well received by the consumers. Purple cai-tai is cross-pollinated vegetable, strong heterosis. Cruciferous vegetables in the male sterile lines and excellent inbred lines hybridization has been used widely. Using distant hybridization and backcross bred the male sterility gene into Purple cai-tai which from Brassica napus. Get Purple cai-tai cytoplasmic male sterile lines and broaden its genetic basis. Using heterosis breeding to improve the yeild and the quality of purple cai-tai and provide materials of new varieties.There were two new Purple cai-tai male sterile lines (Eru-5, Eru-3) and16Purple cai-tai inbred lines hybridized. Agronomic and quality traits, yield traits of hybrids and parents were analyzed to know the heterosis and combining ability, to appraise the parents and then four excellent hybridized combinations were selected. Cultivated with parents and tow commercial varieties. After the heterosis were analyzed the next year, the4cross combination would be evaluated. The main results were as follows:1. Agronomic and quality traits, yield traits of hybrids and parents were analyzed. Each cross combinations heterosis obvious, present positive or negative advantage, the Eru-3for the parent combinations in Agronomic traits comprehensive performance better than the Eru-5for the parent combinations, the plant-type of hybrid increased obviously; To early maturity Eru-5for the hybrid combinations plant type were relatively smaller, mid-parent advantage and high-parent advantage is not good as the Eru-3’, but there were earliness, suitable for the breeding of early maturity. Positive heterosis of combinations performance in the vitamin C content and Soluble protein content display irregular differences; In yield, combinations of Eru-5for parent was displayed better heterosis and yield increasing than the Eru-3’,but worse in the weight per lateral and grand son flower stalk.2. On the basis of hybrids combining ability effcets and heterosis analysis, filtering the parents, including the parents E, G, K, N, O can be used as a precocious breeding and E, G, J, L, N with combining ability effect integrated performance good that can be used for high yield breeding andE, H, J, L, O were display better of the Purple cai-tai flowering stalk traits that can be used as improved commodity flowering stalk traits.3. The quality traits was displayed high-parent heterosis and the difference of seed yield with the seed testing and heterosis of the four combinations of excellent performance on the32crosses was analyed. And the combinations displayed high-parent heterosis and over-standard hybrid heterosis in yield traits. Basically reached the target for the screening of the excellent hybrid combination.
