Aiming to select vaccinium ashei varieties suitable for ecoclimatic conditions in Wenzhou area, we used seven vaccinium ashei varieties to research varieties contrast test, the ecological adaptation and seedling breeding technology. These varieties would offer germplasm resources for the mountain red-yellow soil area to improve ashei growth, could also play a productive role in adjusting fruit tree varieties structure, increasing farmers’s income in mountain area, enhancing agricultural efficiency, and constructing the new socialist village. The main results in the research are as follows:1. In Wenzhou area, we investigated the vaccinium ashei varieties botanical traits, biological traits, yield, quality and resistant traits, the vaccinium ashei varieties that we selected before represented well growth condition, harvested early with high yield and strong resistance,, so these varieties are quite suitable for growing in Wenzhou Red-yellow mountain area. Anaylyzing with climatic and soil conditions, Wenzhou is a region suitable to cultivate Vaccinium ashei varieties.2. The vertical and horizontal diameter growth of vaccinium ashei fruit displays a S-curve, the fruits in early stage and mature stage inflate fast, in middle stage inflate slow. The fruit shape index presents a slow descending trend. Fruit crack begins from mature stage, mainly crack in horizontal. The fruit inflation and fruit crack relate tightly with variety, climatic conditions, and the fruit weight of young tree increases year by year with the enhancement of growth. Aiming to get large fruit, good quality, leaf-fruit ratio should be controlled between2-4:1.3. Branch tips of vaccinium ashei are mainly double-tip type, accounting for47.0%, single-tip type,36.4%, annual end tip can be fructification branch. Spring tip branch’s fructification rate is highest; the fruit No.of each tip displays an increasing trend with the elongation of fructification branch. Ashei self-cross rate is low, only0.6to6.1percent. dropping of bud, flower and fruit are serious, natural fruiting rate is only11.0to53.5percent.4. Five selected vaccinium ashei varieties were suitable to cultivate in Wenzhou area. The three varieties Brightwell, Blue Belle, and Premier with excellent comprehensive properties can be used as main cultivars; other two varieties Garden Blue, and Baldwin with good comprehensive properties can be used as secondary cultivars.5. The result of cutting propagation test shows that:1) The difficulty of commen green-branch cutting propagation varies differently among varieties; cutting branch with two leaves roots better than that with one leaf, those branch with no leaf nearly could not root; the branch with better rooting rate and rooting quality is mainly on the top of plant.the branch roots highest in peat soil plus perlite(1:1)in January,to eighty-eight percent;Treatment with hormone could increase rooting rate and longth,of which treatment dipping with10mg/L IB A for twelve hours behaves the best effect.2) We applied perlite as substrate, and dip the cuttings kerf with100mg/L ABT1.the effet of cutting propagation with no-tube plant propagation technology is better than that with conventional cuttings propagation method,the technology in forward could make vaccinium ashei root16day earlier, whose rooting rate increased23.7percent with root budding increment,5.5per branch; The more leaves retain on branch, the more roots No.will display, shoots on top of earth grow better, young tree in end-stage grows more rapidly.,and into seedling more early.
