Damming with mud pump is a highly efficient low,simple and efficient method, it’s adeep-seated explore reform and scientific innovationon on the basis of sluising method.The study firstly carried on monitoring and experimenting process of field damconstruction in Baishui County, Shaanxi Province. With the data gathered from theexperiment, the author analysed main factors that restrict the applying of dam constructionwith mud pump in high-clay-soil district. With the principle of saving cost and promotingefficiency, the research project of Yangling Lou soil, the theories of soil mechanics, warpingdam and mathematical statistics, the surveying and sampling criterion of water conservancyand hydropower, the basement of laboratory determination, the author conducted a feasibilitystudy using Yangling Lou soil in mud-pump dam construction and tested the properties,parameters and indexes of dam-construction mud. The study includes two parts:(1)monitoring and experimenting process of field dam construction;(2) laboratory test. Theauthor firstly studied the restrictive factors of field dam construction in high-clay-soil district,and then studied the physicochemical properties of soil in Yangling, explored the effects ofdrainage, sinking and shear strength of mud when cement and sand are used as mud blend,finally conducted steel-tank mud experiment with optimized mixture, explored the law ofdrainage, sinking and shear strength of different layers during the process of filling mud, andanalysed its cause. Based on the improvement of equipment, method, process andachievement of this experiment, in successive test, the author will provides more scientifictheoretical basis of practical mud-pump dam construction and establish a more solidfoundation for extension of mud-pump dam construction.With the determination, arrangement, induction and summary of experimental data, the authorreached four conclusions:(1)The monitoring and experimenting process of field dam construction indicates: Themonitoring and experimenting process of field dam construction indicates: after stirring andfilling mud into dam body with mud pump, the mud permeability is poor for the reason thatthe clay content of the earth material is high during the whole process of dam construction so that it is hard for the mud of dam body to drainage and slowing down the consolidation speedand construction progress, engineering progress is greatly influenced. If constructors want tobuild dam in high-clay-soil district, improving dam body filling material is the first way.(2) The preferred test of the soil material admixtures indicates: Heavy silt loam mudmixed with sand or cement in a certain percentage of soil-water ratio of2.5:1, can effectivelyimprove the rate of soil drainage。But the drainage rate of the formation of mud, settlementconsolidation and shear strength were significantly different. Heavy silt loam, mud mixedwith2%of the cement can accelerate the consolidation of the mud drainage to improve theshear strength of the mud, the result is better than mixed with sand.(3) Determination of optimal blending filling of indicators test indicates: the increasingof mud layer can improve subsidence and consolidation of mud and drainage, at the sametime, sheer strength of mud shows an increasing trend. This conclusion is of positivesignificance in guiding production practice.
