China has an abundant resource of fruit, among various types of fruits; apple is morepopular in China. But in recent years, the quantity and quality of apple are decreasing due tothe over application of pesticide during the growing process. To prevent fruit trees frominsects and pathogens, a large amount of pesticides are used which leads to a serious pollutionand risk to human’s health. For the increase of requirement for quantity, more restrictedstandards and regulations were set up to monitor the pesticide residue especially after theyhad been successfully applied in Japan. Furthermore, the higher standard is becoming atechnical barrier which has affected the export of China. To overcome such problems andguarantee the food safety, it is essential to improve the technique for analyzing the pesticideresidue in juice. This article focused on the technique using GC/MC to determine the presence andconcentrations of45kinds of organophosphorous pesticides in apple juice. Besides, thedetailed assessment and suggestion for the GC/MC method was given. The main results wereas follows:1. By comparing different chromatographic columns, temperature heating systems and selectedions, this research has optimized these experiment conditions to get a reasonable result. According to theinternational standards, when under optimized chromatogram and MS conditions,45pesticides werewell separated and the linear relationship is good enough which the correlation coefficientswere greater than0.984for concentrations from0.01to2mg/L for most pesticides.2. Analysis of residues of45pesticides on apple juice was given by using CPE sample preparationand gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Finally, it is determined that45pesticides were tested withthe recovery experiment at three levels:1μg/kg,5μg/kg and10μg/kg. The results showed that the45pesticides gave satisfactory recoveries ranging from71.2to116.9%with the RSDs from1.20%to14.68%, the limitation of this method was between0.02μg/kg and3.00μg/kg.3. Compared with conventional techniques, it is more accurate, low-cost, highly efficient, speedy, and environmental friendly. Furthermore, for the limited use of organic solution, ithas little harm to environment and human’s health for the limited use of organic solutionduring the analysis process.
