Imidacloprid is the global largest dosage of nicotine insecticide currently, mainly for the control of sucking mouthparts pests, but it has some different formulations and application methods. This paper studies the surface tension of different formulations imidacloprid solution and the contact angle, maximum retention on plant leaves surface, through the comparison of the application methods, the best formulation, and the function of additives added, improve liquids in the crops deposition rates, improve the efffect of control pests. The main results were as follows:The physiochemical performance of different formulations imidacloprid solution was examined. Results showed that EC is the best, followed by SL, SC, WP and WG displays the best physiochemical performance by comparison on imidacloprid physiochemical performance in different formulations, which was accord with control effect on pesticides. So surface tension and contact angle could be used as important parameter indexes to judge the sedimentary hold of pesticide droplets on leaves and all kinds of wetting data. The surface wettability of imidacloprid solution to different crops were evaluate, results showed that cucumber blades were most easily wetted spread, tomato blades were the next, and wheat and cabbage were the last. The maximum retention result showed that cucumber was maximum and different formulations were no significant difference on the biggest stable flow. Thus cucumber had minimum requirement to pesticide formulations processing, followed by tomato, and wheat and cabbage had maximum requirement. Imidacloprid could reach requirement of pesticide formulations processing without spray additives for cucumber, be selected WP and WG and added into organic silicon for tomato and be necessary to add into spray additives like organic silicon when spraying for wheat and cabbage.Tomato as the test plants, imidacloprid and acetamiprid effect against whiteflies Bemisia tabaci was examined with different applications, namely foliar spraying and root pouring, respectively. The results showed that imidacloprid and acetamiprid had great difference on control effect greenhouse of B. tabaci in the way of spray and irrigation root. Spray-on process had good quick-acting effect and irrigation root had a long control effect. The control of imidacloprid at the concentration of150mg·L-exceed85%after21d, which indicated that irrigation root had a long control effect and the insecticide had preferably internal absorption. So spraying way should be selected according to the actual situation. In order to research the control effects of imidacloprid and acetamiprid to tomato virus disease, using spray method to treat the plant tomatoes. The results showed that imidacloprid and acetamiprid could obviously inhibit occurrence of viral disease which positively correlate with the amount of B. tabaci the control effect of imidacloprid was better than that of acetamiprid in the same spraying way and in the different times. The control effect of irrigation root of imidacloprid and acetamiprid were higher than that of spraying but the control effect, more than65%at the lowest concentration, of two kinds of spraying method was not obvious.
