| In order to learn the epidemic and infected situation of brucellosis, foot-and-mouthdisease and hepatitis E of goats and sheep in Shandong, we did serosurvey on the there diseasesby serological methods. A total of685serum samples were collected from685animals inQingdao, Laiwu and Heze from March to July in2011,315from sheep and370from goats,which had not been vaccinated with brucellosis and hepatitis E vaccine but viaccinated withFMD vaccine before sampling.The serum samples were examined by four methods, such as rose bengal plane test(RBT), serum tube agglutination test (SAT),indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(iELISA), competitive enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA).The positive resultwere19.6%,18.7%,18.7%and18.4%。The detiction rate of RBT was highest in the fourmethods, and the other three methods with a similar detection rate. Because of the distinctionof region, age, gender and species, the positive rates were different. SAT result was asfollowed:20of213samples from Qingdao were positive, the positive was9.4%;38of277samples from Lauwu were positive, the positive rate was13.7%;70of195samples fromHeze werepositive the positive rate was32.3%, that was the highest of the three regions.110of517adult animalsampls were positive,the positive was22.3%;18of168juvenile animalsamples were positive,the positive was10.7%.122of619female samples were positive,thepositive was19.7%;6of66male samples were positive,the positive rate was9.1%.41of370goats samples were positive,the positive rate was11.1%;87of315sheep samples werepositive,the positive was27.6%. The results indicated that brucellosis was prevalent in goatsand sheep, the positive rate was high and different in various areas, brucellosis in sheep washigher than in goats, by using the four assays. The prevalence of brucellosis in the≤1-year-oldanimals was lower than in the>1-year-old animals. The rate of positive samples collectedfrom the female animals was higher than the male animals. Non-Structure protein of animals antibody were detected through NS-3ABC proteinantigen to identify if the local animals had ever been infected by FMDV, which can make areasonable inference for the foot-and-mouth disease epidemiology of local animals.All the685serum samples were detected by3ABC-I-ELISA kit in serology,93samples werepositive,the average positive rate was13.6%. Through the serology test, we found17of213samples from Qingdao were positive, the positive rate was8.0%;43of277samples fromLaiwu was positive, the positive rate was15.5%;33of195samples from Heze were positive,the positive rate was16.9%. Different species had different infection rate, in this survey wefound that370goats serums NS-3ABC was positive and it’s positive rate was11.1%;87of315sheep serums NS-3ABCwere positive and it’s positive rate was27.6%. The result showedthat the sheep and goats in the three regions had infected FMDV and the infection rate ofsheep is higher than the rate of goats. FMDV was still prevalence in Shandong with a higherrate of infection, especially in Heze.None of the685serum samples tested by DS-ELISA for the presence of anti-HEV IgGwere positive.The result showed these sheep and goats had never infected HEV, but thatcould’t elucidated all animals in Shandong were negative. According to survey in Xinjianghad detected HEV cases in Small Tail Han sheep which were introduced from Shandong. Soin the later production we should be detect and take effective prevention and control measureson time to reduce hepatitis E.Through the investigation, we learned the epidemic and infected situation of brucellosis,foot-and-mouth disease and hepatitis E in sheep and goats in Shandong, providing theorybasis for future prevention work to reduce the economic losses and promote the healthy andrapid development of sheep industry in Shandong. |
