Pollution of environment from livestock to become more and more serious, China is a big country of pig-keeping. Thus research the contribution to environmental pollution of pig industry and explore ways to reduce pollution is especially important.Life cycle assessment (LCA) was a tool which quantitatively analyzed and evaluated the environmental impact of a product, process or activity throughout its entire life cycle. Its purpose was to assess the effect on the environment of resource consumption and waste emissions and sought opportunities to improve the environmental impact. This paper analysed two ways of pig manure treatment——pig manureaerobic composting anaerobic fermentation using life cycle assessment (LCA) method and basing on the ISO14040which provided the technical framework for life cycle assessment. Considering the basic data of every stage, we adopted operational methods. According to the steps:collection of basic data——inventory analysis——impact assessment——life cycle interpretation, the life cycle associated with pig manure aerobic composting was divided into three stages:composting stage, turning stage, wastewater treatment stage; the life cycle associated with pig manure anaerobic fermentation was also divided into three stages:anaerobic fermentation stage, biogas power gene-ration stage, biogas slurry processing stage.Pollutants were listed during the stages. Depending on pollutants during the stages, environmental impact (global warming, acidification, eutrophication, photochemical oxidation) was evaluated during the stages. Finally, we obtained the size of the pressure on environment related to two kinds of manure treatment technology throughout the life cycle to facilitate a comprehensive evaluation. The main results of the study are as follows:(1) Environmental impact load of aerobic composting is1372.97249,environmental impact loading of anaerobic fermentation is129.25116.(2) Aerobic composting process weighted assessment value:global warming, environment acidification、eutrophication、photochemical ozone synthesis is89.74063、1127.70653、123.94207、31.58326respectively.(3) Anaerobic fermentation process weighted assessment value:global warming, environment acidification、eutrophication、photochemical ozone synthesis is119.62618、4.22605、0.14524、5.25369respectively.
