The forest fire has become a danger to national property and citizens’ personal safety.The long-distance aerodynamic extinguishing cannon use the high pressure gas to launch theshells filled with special extinguishing agent to the fire area where the firefighters andequipment cannot reach, in order to achieve the purpose of fire fighting. Therefore, the rangeof extinguishing cannon is the key factor of extinguishing effect, reducing the frictionalresistance between the shell and the barrel to improve the range has an important significance.Use bionic non-smooth surface to reducing the frictional resistance has become a hotresearch in drag reduction. The body shape and appearance of organism got in the longprocess of evolution play an important role in reducing the frictional resistance duringmovement. The study based on the basic principles of bionics and rubber seals theory ofnonlinear, and combined with the non-smooth surface characteristics of earthworms, dungbeetles, and shells to study the seal and drag reduction technology of bionic non-smoothsurface. The bionic non-smooth surface used in the non-linear rubber materials has a certainvalue to seals and drag reduction technology, and it has broad application prospects inengineering, in addition to all of the above, it can save energy and improve efficiency.The paper introduced the main research of seal and drag reduction technology at homeand abroad at the first, on this basis, combined with the principle of bionics and biologicalcharacteristics, took the surface pits of earthworms and shells for the prototype, built bionicnon-smooth surface seal and drag reduction model by arranging hemispherical pit on thesurface of the rubber seal.The numerical simulation results have showed the different effect of seal between themodels whether they have bionic pit features. Study on the compression of seals and diameterof the bionic pit can determine the parameters of bionic pit and the size of rubber ring.Study on speed of shells and diameter of bionic pits for the drag-reducing effect has beentaken, and it shows the relationship between the drag reduction effect and different shell speedand bionic pit diameter.In the lubrication conditions, the finite element analysis of the oil stored in the bionic pitduring the movement of shell has been taken, and the result shows the effect of the movementof the lubrication oil to the drag reduction.
