Lysmata is place in Arthropoda, Crustacea, Malacostraca, Eucarida, Decapoda, Ploima, Hippolytidae.Lysmata amboinensis commonly known as the doctor shrimp, a common marine ornamental shrimp, hermaphrodite, allogamy, widespread in the west Indo-Pacific coral reef.Because of its beautiful appearance and the habit of scavenging and eating other marine animal’s parasites and dead tissue, attract a large number aquatic lovers. In this study we investigate the cultivation mode and morphological changes of Lysmata amboinensxs during the embryonic development and larva development at water temperature (26±1℃), salinity (30±1) in laboratory condition. In the stagel to stage2,we feed the larva with chaetoceros and rotifer, after stage2,we feed larva with artemia. The larva goes through30days and6times metamorphosis to be in stage6, length from2.74mm±0.04mm growth to5.12mm±0.05mm. Larva has high mortality rate from stage2to stage3, about47%, in stage6, the mortality rate is about11%.The embryonic development goes through nine stages:fertilized eggs, cleavage, blastula, gastrula, nauplius occur, eye pigment prophase, eye pigment anaphase, prehatching and hatching stages. There is no significant change in embryo size during early developmental stages. However at the prehatching stage the embryos significant enlarged from0.6mm to0.9mm. The color of the embryo gradually change during the development, from light green, dark green, dark yellow, to tawny. The whole incubation period is about13days at water temperature (26±1℃).The main characteristic of larva in stagel to stage6is:stagel, eyes are compound, sessile, has two pairs of antenna, five abdominal somite, three pairs of maxilliped, one paris of paraeiopod, triangular telson; stage2, has eyes handle, the second paraeiopod double limb bud; stage3, the body appears many large red patches, the second paraeiopod basic develop, the fifth paraeiopod limb bud, the tail has double limbs, the internal limb bud; stage4, the third paraeiopod limb bud, the fifth paraeiopod basic develop, the length of tail internal limb is about a half of telson; stage5, the length of tail internal limb is about the length of telson, quadrangular telson; stage6, the basipodite of the first antenna has two section, internal and external limb both have twelve section, the basipodite of the second antenna has two section, the point of merogenesis has a small branch, the length of tail internal limb is more than telson.
