The narrow genetic base is one of the major limitative factors for the germplasm development in maize breeding in China. The effective germplasm utilization is the only way to solve this problem.94maize inbred lines in this paper were used to study their genetic diversity and divide heterotic group by SSR molecular marker technology.55pieces were selected from the field performance of good breeding excellent inbred lines, variance analysis and cluster analysis, by morphologic methods and SSR molecular markers into groups’results were compared. The agronomic characteristics of14spring maize combinations were studied by variance and correlation analysis. The results were as follows:1.5pairs of SSR primers, which had better polymorphic, were screened from21pairs of SSR primers. The variation of43alleles was found out by5pairs of SSR primers. Each pair of primers screened out5-9alleles, with the average of7.2alleles for every pair of primers. The range of polymorphism information contents were0.46-0.68, their average value was0.58. The Dissimilarity coefficient ranged from0.0526to1.000.2. Based on the SSR finger print, the91maize inbred lines were divided into6groups. Through the agronomic characters were divided into4groups. The two ways of classification of alignment were good.3. A set of opitional SSR-PCR system was built.4minutes of pre-denaturation at94℃.1minutes of denaturation at94℃.1minutes of annealing at55℃-65℃(depending on the Tm).2minutes of extension at72℃.30-35cycles(depending on different materials)2minutes of extension1at72℃.10minutes of final re-extension at72℃.4. In14maize combinations, the yield of neidan205was the highest and its yield reached very significant level among jichengdan3.030×034,1308×1202and030×025. The positive effect of ear weight.100-seed weight, ear diameter and ear length on yield reached very significant level.
