Supported by National High-Tech R&D (863) Program, this researchwhich based on agricultural production and existed research of virtual technology wasmainly did on three aspects as data normalization, controlling models on growth ofvirtual plants, digital visualization system based on above. Researching contents andresults were mainly on following aspects:1. Agricultural experience which based on different use level of nitrogenousfertilizer was designed in this paper. And then,12data indexes on maize organwas taken as samples. To normalized the index data, Evaluation Standard ofAccuracy on Chlorophyll Measuring was built with fuzzy mathematics. And thisprovided one way for measuring chlorophyll data accurately. The index data wasmeasured in every growing period of maize. Some duplicate and contrastingblocks were also set to meet the scientific requirements of agriculturalexperiences.2. Based on measured data and meteorological data in different growing period ofmaize, morphology simulation models of maize organ which took accumulatedtemperature as independent variable were created. These models included that ofleaf length, leaf width, leaf style, sheath, tassel and dynamic growing model. Forevery organ was one part of a whole, the relationship of each organ model wasalso researched with the principal line of accumulated temperature.3. For fulfilling the connection of morphology model and controlling model of maizeorgan with computer, three dimensional automata of maize was created on thebasement of morphology model, physiological ecology model and topologicalmodel of maize. The morphological model and physiological ecology model werelinked in three levels like Macro automata, Child automata and Micro automata.The process changing the growth of maize from reality to abstract was carried outin this way.4. In order to display dynamic growing process of maize with computer vividly,geometric model of maize organ was created with the support of process of abstracting above. Meanwhile, static display of maize organ was also fulfilledwith OpenGL, rendering technology on figure and geometric model.5. Based on static display and dynamic controlling of morphology simulation modelof maize, dynamic growing visualization system of maize was carried out withMFC and database technology on VC++platform.The visualization system of maize which displayed the dynamic growing processof maize can not only show the differences of growing process and production, butalso provided user an interactive platform with virtual growing environment. All ofwhich can support a further research on growing regulation of maize. Thisvisualization system was an easy-controlling easy-understanding and responsiveplatform for farmers. At last, it could not only reduce the experience frequency butalso could shorten growth cycle of maize and could save resources like manual labour,material and finance. All of which made a great sense for improving the resources useefficiency and developing quality, high yield, efficient, safe and ecologicalagriculture.
