The article setted complex salt composition gradient according to the typical salt area in Hetao of Inner Mongolia. Several plants seed which belong to gramineous and legume were studied by laboratory vertical board germination and greenhouse cultivation on seedling germination stage and seedling stage for physiology and biochemistry characteristics that can toleranced salt surroundings, the purpose is find out the grass species that can be grow on specific saline-alkali soil,and it provide a basision theoretical form development of grass cultivation and improvement on saline-alkali land.The result showed that:1On seedding germination period:some forage material can be promoted to germination on0.6%of the complex salt; tested species materials displayed a poor tolerability on high salt concentrations (1.8%of the complex salt); which the germination rate decline percentage, the average germination showed a significant positive correlation with salt concentration, the germination rate, the relative germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vigor index and germination showed a significant negative correlation with the salt concentration; the order of tested seed germination salt tolerance showed by the function method:Festuca. Ar.undinacea> Agropyron elongatum> Astragalus.adsurgens> Zhongmu No.3> Poa crymophila> Galega orientalis> Puccinellia tenuiflora> Psathyrostachys juncea> Hordeum brevisubulatum>. Pennisetum alopecuroide> Coronilla varia> Lotus cornioulatus> Elymus duhuricus> Agropyron mongolicum> Melilotus ruthenicus> Astragalus cicer> Trifolium repens> Medicago falcata.26species materiales of gramineous and legumes been selected correspondence the relatively salt-tolerant, moderate salt tolerance and salt tolerance of low basis on seeding germination stage experiment, physiological biochemical indicators of salt stress been further studied to the material by using the same basin test on grass seedlings. We could Judging from the growth potential and biomass, wheat straw, tall fescue and milkvetch which is salt tolerance at high salt concentrations showed better growth potential; physiological and biochemical indicators like leaf relative water content, chlorophyll with salt concentration was a significant negative correlation,but like proline content and relative electrical conductivity and POD activity, SOD activity,showed a significant positive correlation with salt concentration; six materiales been evaluationed by subordinate function on seedling stage under salt stress The order of salt tolerance is Festuca. Arundinacea> Astragalus.adsurgens> Psathyrostachys juncea> Agropyron morgolicum> Lotus cornioulatus> Medicago falcata3The principal component analysis showed that tested grass seed germination stage, germination rate, germination potential and relative germination potential can be used as the primary evaluation of the tested seed germination to tolerance salt condition on the assess of salt tolerance screening,. At the seedling growth stage, leaf relative water content, proline content and MDA can be used as the primary evaluation of the tested grass seedlings to tolerance salt.
