This paper has studied separation process of separation unit of the4SW-170potato digger, in order to identify the relationship between the potato’s velocity、the potato’s acceleration and the input speed of potato digger in the different screen angle, and make the evaluation of the screening performance, through theoretical analysis and simulation analysis. The following conclusions were acquired from theoretical analysis and simulation analysis:(1) Based on analysing the kinematics and kinetics of potato on vibrating screen, it was obtained to three limit value K1, K2and K3in the different motion state of potato on vibrating screen. And given preliminary input speed range of potato digger In the different screen angle.(2) Based on PeoE5.0and ANSYS, the three-dimensional model and the finite element model of the irregular potato has been establish. And through the determination, the largest error of the potato model and actual potatoes in the quality is within5%.On this basis, builded the virtual prototyping model of separation device of the potato digger. And maded simulation analysis.(3)Through the simulation analysis, found the changing rule of vibrating screen on unload condition. Obtained the changing rule of potato in the screening process.on load condition.(4)Through the simulation analysis, to some extent, the collisions between the potatoes and potatoes prompted separation of the potatoes and soil.
