Vicia villosa routh var. is an important forage crop with good nutrient value for Rex Rabbit,however,it is not clear to cause.To study the effects of vicia villosa routh var. on growth performance,digestion and metabolism, slaughter performance, serum biochemical para-meters,cecum environment,and fur quality of Rex Rabbit.We did the experiment. In the study, we selected40±2days,similar weight,heath,male and female half and half of Sichuan White Rex Rabbits weaned.These rabbits were randomly divided into seven groups(0,25%,33%,41%,49%,57%, and65%Smooth Vetch meal),each group contains60.The results showed that:1. Regardless of which trial period in each treatment group,the average daily feed intake,average daily gain and feed-weight ratio are better than the contrast group,among which treatment Ⅲ is the best.With the amount of the meal increasing,the average daily gain increased at first and finally reduced.treatment Ⅲ was significantly higher(P<0.05) than contrast group only in the first stage of the trial,although the average daily gain of treatment Ⅲ are the highest,there are no significant difference compared to other group (P>0.05).The trend of feed-weight ratio is contrast with average daily gain,treatment III significantly lower than treatment VI,treatment Ⅲ arid treatment Ⅱ significantly lower than the contrast group in the entire trial period,The rest of the trial period, differences were not significant (P>0.05).2. The digestibility of crude protein.crude fiber, crude fat increased at first and finally decreased,the digestion of neutral detergent fiber has been increasing in each treatment group,and each treatment group is higher than the contrast group.The digestibility of crude protein,treatment Ⅲ and Ⅱ were significantly or very significantly higher than the contrast and treatment VI in each trial period (P<0.05).The digestibility of crude fiber,the treatment Ⅲ were significantly higher than the contrast group.The digestibility of ether extract,treatment Ⅲ was very significantly higher than treatment V, VI and the contrast when rabbit were57day-old.The treatment III was significantly higher than treatment Ⅶ and the contrast in85day-old.112and140’were the same,treatment Ⅲ only higher than the contrast.The rest group had no significant difference among the same day (P>0.05).The digestibility of neutral detergent fiber,the treatment V and VI were significantly higher than the contrast (P<0.05).treatment V significantly higher thanreatment I in57(P<0.05). The same as85,112,140, but there is no difference (P>0.05).With the age increasing, the digestibility of the nutrients of the above four, showed significant or extremely significant for the57with85days and after85differences.3. As the meal adding,slaughter performance, carcass weight and slaughter rates increased first and then decreased treatment Ⅲ was the highest,treatment VI was the lowest.Carcass weight,treatment Ⅲ was significantly higher than other group except treatment Ⅱ, treatment Ⅱ was significantly higher than the contrast (P<0.05).The slaughter rate between groups were not significant (P>0.05).The weight of immune organs and immune organ indexes were increased with the increasing of meal adding, and each treatment group was higher than the contrast.4. Total protein, albumin, high density lipoprotein cholesterol were increased with the meal increasing in the blood. Total cholesterol, triglycerides, urea nitrogen, and (very) low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were decreased with the increasing of the meal.5. As the amount of meal increasing.acetic acid, total volatile fatty acid and ammonium nitrogen in the cecum showed an increasing trend.The propionic acid and propionic acid ratio decreased first and then increased, the pH value was the same as the propionic acid, the butyric acid and butyric acid ratio increased from beginning to end along with the meal adding, the contrast highest.The ratio acetic acid and butyric acid was increased first and then decreased along with increasing of meal, the contrast was the lowest. This result shows that the appropriate amount of Smooth Vetch meal will help to improve the environment in the Rex rabbit cecum.6. Fur quality in each treatment better than the contrast,with the increase of Smooth Vetch meal, the hair density and flatness of Rex rabbit fur increased first and then reduced,among all group treatment Ⅱ best in he hair density,treatment Ⅲ best in flatness.Overall, fur quality index increased first and then decreased,the treatment III is the best, followed bv treatment Ⅱ and treatment Ⅱ.
