Anatomical Study On The Fruit Development Of"Hongyang" Kiwifruit

"Hongyang"Kiwifruit trees that9years old grown at Ya’an, Sichuan province were used as experiment materials in this study. The flowering and fruit development in different nodes of fruiting shoots were observed. With paraffin cut section method, the anatomical structure of fruit was observed, and anatomical studies of the process of fruit growth were made. Fruit qualities that soaked with CPPU were tested. The results were as follows:(1) The flowering time of "Hongyang"kiwifruit was at the end of April in Ya’an, Sichuan Provence. This period keeps a week. There was no difference of flowering time between nodes in four styles of fruiting shoot.(2) The growth curve of longitudinal diameter and transverse diameter were a single sigmoid. CPPU increase the longitudinal diameter and transverse diameter, and there are more differences between nodes.(3) The number of cell in ovary and placenta has similar change among the development of flower bud. There were two cell division period in the development of ovary。The first period was at30ds before flowering.The second was at15ds before flowering. The expansions of ovary cell begin with20ds before flowering. The cell of placenta has no change in the development of flower bud.(4) There is no difference between "Hongyang" and male in the beginning development of anther. It was about15ds until pollen ripe. The development of "Hongyang"Kiwifruit anther stopped at23ds before flowering. The pollen has three apertures(5) The small cell in outer pericarp grown at45ds after flowing, large cell in outer pericarp and placenta grown at30ds after flowering. The diameter of small cell was60-75μm; the diameter of large cell was220-275μm. (6) The number of small cell and large cell increased3-4times after flowering. There are two increase periods of the number of placenta cell after flowering. The number of fruit cell was determined at the time of flowering, and it was extremely affected by organic matter.(7) CPPU increased large cell’s volume and the number of placenta cell in10days. There was no effect on the volume of placenta cell and the number of small cell. The number of large cell has a marked increase among the fruit development.(8) The second and fifth nodes have more cell than others, and have larger volume. The number of fruit cell is lest in the third node, and fruit is minimum.
