The basic construction of farmland water conservancy is the lifeblood of agriculture production, and fully playing the role of the irrigation and water conservancy facilities is the basic guarantee for improving agricultural benefit. The quality of rural economic development is directly related to the construction of farmland water conservancy construction. Therefore, we should focus on strengthening the construction of farmland water conservancy works, speeding up the construction of farmland water conservancy standardization, and promoting the leaping development of water conservancy cause. Although irrigation cause in southern China has a history of thousands of years, and has accumulated a lot of experience, there are still some problems:irrigation design probability is lower, field engineering matching rate and intact rate is lower, the loss of water transfer with channel is serious, irrigation schedule is irrational, and so on. Therefore, we must accelerate the standardization of irrigation district, and make full use of the results of the planning and design for farmland irrigation and drainage and rational use of water resources.The southern area is mainly the small electromechanical channel irrigation district, so the study on the standardization for the small electromechanical channel irrigation district has very important significance, and the study in this paper mainly includes the following three aspects:(1) Introduce the calculation methods of some parameters involved in the hydrologic and hydraulic calculation, the pump selection methods, the irrigation channel system design methods, the drainage ditch system design methods, and describe common layout modes of irrigation and drainage in the South, channel system building types, as well as the secondary channel optimization method of longitudinal section.(2) Taking Taihu Lake plain area for example, according to the different areas of small electromechanical irrigation district, it makes the machine and pump selection; For the open channel system and the combination system of pipe and channel, it makes the designs of irrigation channels and irrigation pipes, the drainage ditch system design and also makes the example analysis on the optimization method of the secondary channels.(3) On the basis of Visual Basic6.0, the system of planning and design for the small electro-mechanical channel irrigation district in the south is developed. This system consists of5main modules of the irrigation schedule, irrigation channel system, drainage ditch system, engineering estimation and inquiry system, file and help assistant modules were included in this system too.
