In this paper, the forest landscape pattern and their dynamic characteristic of Jingouling forest farm of Changbai Mountain in nearly10years are studied by applying the data of forest resource inventory in1997and2007in association with the plot survey findings. The landscape composition and spatial pattern variability are analyzed on patch scales, patch shapes, fragmentation and landscape heterogeneity. Simultaneously, the forest landscape aethetic quality of the study area are assessed in order to provide a scientific basis for reasonable forest landscape planning and managing.Classification system comprised of lanscape group, landscape types and sub-landscape is established on the basis of landscape origin, dominant tree species abundance and function indices including age group, volume, and canopy density respectively, which offers meaningful references to landscape management. With the area of804.6hm-transffered into. Spruce-fir coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest manifests dominant landscape types in the study area, which acts as the main direction of the transfer according to distribution of landscape composition and spatial transfer.Spruce-fir coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest representing closest to naturalness and lowest degree of fragmentation plays an important role in forest landscape restoration and maintenance of lanscape diversity, followed by Spruce-fir-korean-pine coniferous mixed forest. Huge patch area, small patch density, highly polymerized and concentrated distribution are characteristic features of Ribbed-linden-poplar-birch broadleaved mixed forest and Larch-spruce-fir coniferous mixed forest. Polar-birch forest indicates an unstable condition with dispersed patch distribution, highly fragmented and complex patch shape. Meanwhile, coniferous forest scattered about behaves stable structure, simple patch shapes and high degree of fragmentation. The entire forest landscape exists with highly heterogeneous spatial patterns subject to certain environment factors and interference.Furthermore, ninety in-forest landscapes are evaluated by scenic beauty estimation (SBE) method with twelve landscape elements affecting the near-view forest landscape aesthetic quality are involved. The evaluation results indicates that the scenic beauty sequence is Spruce-fir coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest> Coniferou forest-Spuce-fir-korean-pine coniferous mixed forest Polar-birch forest> Larch-spruce-fir coniferous mixed forest> Ribbed-linden-poplar-birch broadleaved mixed forest.Multivariate linear models for estimation on landscape quality between favor degree and the structural factors of in-forest landscape are established using Quantitative Theory I. Among the landscape elements, undergrowth coverage and undergrowth height make the greatest contribution to landscape evaluation model, followed by trunk form, average branch height and tree species compositon, while average DBH contribute minimal. Specifically. People show most preference for forest landscapes with diverse tree species, straight trunk, higher branch height and undergrowth coverage, lower undergrowth height and larger DBH.
