The existing forest resources of Qinyuan in Shanxi County is an important barrier to protect the regional environment. Analysis of the landscape pattern and to evaluate their use understand the current pattern of study area, in order to make timely adjustment of strategies, protect the resources more effectively and provide more services for human. In this study, under the support of GIS, ENVI and Fragstats technonlogy, using RS and Qinyuan County class vector as the data source analysizes the landscape pattern of the status quo of research of Qinyuan County in Shanxi Province in different scales of pattern features. According to the analysis results of landscape pattern in Qinyuan County, from naturalness, stability, disturbance, diversity, representativeness, rarity, area suitability of 7 indicators, and each index is divided into 4 grades, set up 2 levels of evaluation index system. Using AHP to determine the weight of each index, the comprehensive evaluation index of the study area obtained by calculation, to determine the quality grade. The results show:(1)The present situation of landscape pattern is overall good and high diversity, which plays a major role in the control of large patches, each patch type was the main agglomeration uniform and distribution is relatively concentrated and a lower degree of fragmentation.(2)The dominant landscape types in Qinyuan County are mixed forest, followed by shrub land, the two types have a great control effect on the landscape of the study area. The non forest land in Qinyuan County is construction land, roads and water bodies. Pure forest landscape, forestry landscape and wasteland are serious fragmentation, where human disturbance is the main factor. In the minimal patch, the forest and non forest land are the main advantages of pure forest landscape and cultivated land landscape; In the small patches, forest is pure forests to dominant; In the great patches, forest and non forest land are the predominance of the mixed forest and wasteland; Forest land is mainly controlled by mixed forest in the great patches, but non forest land is controlled by other (buildings, roads and water) in the small patches.(3) In the forest, the relative density, edge density and maximum number of plaques per kilometer of pure forest landscape show that the fragmentation degree of pure forest landscape is relatively large; non forest land and forests have relative density in arable land, edge density and maximum number of patterns per kilometer, shows that the two degree of fragmentation is in large non forest land. The relative density, edge density and number of patterns per kilometer of mixed forest are smaller than others, that boundary is divided small degree, fragmentation degree is small.(4) The ecological quality evaluation of landscape types in the study area is carried out, and the ecological quality of mixed forest is the best, followed by shrub land and arable land.(5) Comprehensive evaluation results show that in the study area is now the landscape pattern, mixed forest of pattern evaluation index was the highest, followed by the shrub, second grade in better level, indicating that the study area currently mixed forest and shrub patterns in good condition. And others, nursery land, arable land, wasteland and suitable forest land landscape evaluation index is low, the pattern evaluation grade is IV, the five types of the current pattern is relatively poor. This study expect to provide a reference about the follow-up research cause pattern of factor analysis and make a contribution for forest landscape planning and managing, maintaining forest landscape quality and stability through the situation analysis of Qinyuan County and the pattern of evaluation.
