The tribe Batocerini belongs to Lamiinae of Cerambycidae in Coleoptera. Many species are serious forest pests. The economic significance, the research history of Batocerini at home and abroad, the research history of comparative morphology and of zoogeography are briefly introduced. We work on classification, morphological comparison and fauna. The main results are following:1. Taxonomy16species in2genera of Batocerini are recorded and described. Type specimens of11species in2genera are examined. Genital tergite ⅤⅢ and ventrite ⅤⅢ、 hind-wing of some species is performed, the morphological characters are described and the details of the structures are drawn. Morphological characters of B. rubus and B. rufomaculata and of B. lineolata and B. horsfieldi are compared. The results indicate that they are all valid species.2. Comparative morphology studyExternal morphology:We select50external morphological characters for study such as the shape of antennal scape, the width of forehead, the shape of outer angle of elytra, the first tarsus of foreleg. Comparative studies are carried out based on the50external morphological characteristics of2genus of Batocerini,10species of Batocera,6species of Apriona. The results indicate that there are4morphological characters such as the surface of antenna coarse or not, antenna spiny or not, pronotum with stripe or not could be used for identification at genus level. There are17morphological characters such as the surface of antenna coarse or not, the length of gena, the color of mesepimeron and elytral stripe could be used for identification between species of Batocera. And there are17morphological characters such as antenna with ring stripe or not, the shoulder with spike or not can be used for species-level identification.Hind-wing venations:16characters are chose to make the comparative research on46specimens of11species of2genera. The results indicate that the hind-wing venations haven’t taxonomic significance.Tergite ⅤⅢ and Ventrite ⅤⅢ:The tergite VIII and ventrite ⅤⅢ of Batocerini are first used in our comparative study.5characters of the tergite ⅤⅢ and ventrite ⅤⅢ are chose to make the comparative study on74specimens of9species of2genera. The results indicate that the tergite ⅤⅢ and ventrite ⅤⅢ have taxonomic significance:1in genus and3in species.Male and female genetalia:15characters of male genetalia are chose to make the comparative research on85specimens of9species of2genera.15characters of female genetalia are chosen to make the comparative research on45species of2genera. The results indicate that there are one character in genitalia of male and one in female could be used for identification in genus-level. And there are3characters in male genitalia, and3in female could be used for identification in species of genus Batocera.4characters in genitalia of male and2in female could be used for identification in species of genus Apriona. To sum up, we get some characters which have taxonomic significance at genus-level and species-level.According to comparative morphological research we provide keys, complementing the description.3. The fauna of Batocerini in ChinaWe analyze the distribution of the known2genera and16species in zoogeographical regions. They are distributed in all over the word. And there are3endemic species distributed in Oriental Realm. They are distributed in all over China, but mainly in Oriental Realm. There are16species in Oriental Realm and9species in Palearctic Realm. Arranged in richness are South China Region> South West China Region> Middle China Region> Northern China Region> Qinghai-Tibet Region> Mongolia-Xinjiang Region> Northeast China Region. There are2endemic species distributed in South China Region and1endemic species distributed in Middle China Region. And there are2species distributing in6or more zoogeographical region. This study describes the morphological characteristics of Batocerini from China. Comparative studies are carried out and we get some characters which have taxonomic significance. According to comparative morphological research, we provide keys, complemente the description. andimprove our insect fauna information of Batocerini. Our results not only provide more accurate and complete taxonomic information for the classification and identification of Batocerini from China, also provide a theoretical foundation for phylogenetic and evolutionary study.
