Low-Pressure Moistube is a new type of water-saving irrigation equipment whichreferred to the technique of semi-permeable film water-saving irrigation, the crop full lifecycle of continuous irrigation is achived by using soil water potential difference andunidirectional permeability of semi-permeable film, and it can achieve regulating of Cropwater requirement timely. So this research is significant to water-saving technology. The flowlaw, anti-clogging performance, and Infiltration characteristics under irrigation ofLow-Pressure Moistube are studied in this paper. The outflow and infiltration characteristics of Low-Pressure Moistube are studied bylaboratory experiment. The results indicated that the pressure was linearly related to theoutflow of Moistube in both air and soil. Under the same pressure, the outflow of Moistube insoil is20%to60%lower than in the air, because the oil pressure is the main course ofreduction of outflow of Moistube. During Infiltration process, the wet fronting appears asround, and the relationship between distance moved by wetting front and time of water supplyis a power regression. Soil moisture content was symmetrical centered on Moistube, thefarther the distance from the Moistube the lower for the moisture content.Continuous irrigation tests in6types of muddy water were set to investigate theanti-clogging performance of low-pressure Moistube. Based on the experiment, the impact ofsediment particle size and sediment concentration on Moistube is analyzed, the range ofparticle size and sediment concentration level that cause sensitive to clogging the Moistube isdiscussed, and evaluation method of putting the average relative flow of Moistube as the basicparameter and proposed. The results show that sediment concentration is the main reasoncausing Moistube clogging when the sediment particle size less than0.1mm. and Particle sizehas limited influence with clogging. These findings provide a basis for the application ofLow-Pressure Moistube.
