ObjectiveBy studying cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) and the parameters of blood rheology ofthe carotid arteriosclerosis crowd, the aim is to analyse:1) diagnosis validity of cardio-anklevascular index (CAVI) to arteriosclerosis;2) the common impact factor of CAVI;3) correlationbetween CAVI and blood rheology, hoping to provide the data of early diagnosis value of CAVIand provide clinical evidence for early intervention of atherosclerosis.MethodsCollecting the physical examination data of300natural crowd (the male172, female128),at the age of16years old to76years old. According to the carotid intima-media thickness of theultrasonic testing we divide the investigate objects into the observation group (carotidatherosclerosis group) and the control group (carotid artery normal group),171people inobservation group,129people in the control group. Observing the age of the objects, bloodpressure, blood fat four items, blood sugar, blood rheology, CAVI, ankle-brachial index(ABI).Calculating the cut-off point and sensitivity and specific degrees of CAVI for arteriosclerosisdiagnosis. And using of a linear correlation analysis and multivariate linear regression to analysethe impact factors of CAVI and the correlation with blood rheology.ResultsUsing receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve to calculate area under curve of CAVIarteriosclerosis diagnosis for0.705, take cut-off point of7.5for maximum accuracy, thesensitivity of the diagnosis atherosclerosis is0.670, the specific degrees for0.672. CAVI value ispositively age, ABI, blood glucose, and gathered index, low density lipoprotein, systolic bloodpressure, and negatively correlated with high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c), diastolicpressure. CAVI is linear correlated with blood vessels gathered index, but is not statisticallysignificant related with other hemorheology indices.Conclusions1. CAVI can preliminary assess the severity atherosclerosis, and can be used as non-invadescreening means of arteriosclerosis. It has medium diagnostic validity, so it can not substitute for carotid ultrasound for atherosclerosis diagnosis.2. Age, ABI, blood glucose, and gathered index, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-c), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c), systolic blood pressure, diastolicpressure are the impact factors of CAVI.3. CAVI is linear correlated with blood vessels gathered index, but is not statisticallysignificant related with other hemorheology indices. Blood fat is the impact factor of CAVI. Therelationship between CAVI and blood rheology needs further research.
