ObjectiveThe femoral neck is one of the predilection sites of femoral neck benigntumors and tumor-like lesions, which is easy to possess complications such aspathologic fracture or aseptic necrosis of femoral head, due to its specialanatomicyal and bio-mechanical characteristics. This study is aims to evaluatethe effectiveness of varies surgical managements of femoral neck benign tumorsand tumor-like lesions, such as the use of microwave hyperthermiatechnology, thus providing guidance for the treatment of femoral neck benigntumors and tumor-like lesions of the femoral neck and a new techniquecombining with microwave hyperthermia technology.Methods43cases of femoral neck benign tumors and tumor-like lesions of the femoral neck were retrospectively analyzed from2003to2011to evaluate thesurgical treatments, based on selection of surgical approach, window elements, the treatment of residual cavity, bone defect repair, microwave RF-assistedmethod application and selection of internal fixationResultsThere were2cases occurring recurrence. Among the remaining41patients,39patients had excellent and good limb and joint function,2patientshad fair function. Eneeking score is a minimum of26minutes, maximum of30points, an average of28.2points. No pathological bone fracture or breakage ofinternal fixation, No vascular or nerve injuries.ConclusionThe femoral neck has its special anatomical characteristics and thedestruction of the calcar femorale and insufficient blood supply will lead toundesirable consequences. Surgical treatment of femoral neck benign tumors ortumor-like lesions should be more concerned about the surgical approach choice, thorough treatment of lesions of the residual cavity, bone defect repair withautologous iliac bone graft points, and reasonable application of internal fixation. The application of Microwave RF assistive technology provides new techniquesand insights for the prevention of recurrence.and treatment of femoral neckbenign tumors or tumor-like lesions...
