Purpose:This study aims to compare the differences of the molecular subtypes and prognosis of breast cancer between breast cancer with and without Paget’s disease of the nipple. Methods:The study is based on943women with histological verified breast cancer diagnosed between1998and2011at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, including29patients with Paget’s disease of the nipple. All women’s charts were reviewed. All recurrences and deaths were registered. Results:Breast cancer with Paget’s disease of the nipple expressed stronger positive for Her-2and Ki-67compared to those without Paget’s disease of the nipple(p=0.000; p=0.024), and weaker positive for ER and PR(p=0.004; p=0.001). The molecular subtypes of breast cancer with Paget’s disease of the nipple is Luminal B subtype and Her-2over-expression subtype (p=0.002). Breast cancer with Paget’s disease of the nipple has a later stage of The TNM staging system(T:p=0.022, N:p=0.000). There is no significant correlation of Disease-Free Survival and Overall Survival between Breast cancer with and without Paget’s disease of the nipple(p=0.427, p=0.376).Conclusions:Breast cancer with Paget’s disease of the nipple has a high risk of recurrence and metastasis, but there is no significant correlation of Overall Survival and Disease-Free Survival.
