Background:Atherosclerosis is a disease that has multiple epidemic factors and verycomplex mechanisms. It is the main pathological process of cardiac cerebraland vascular diseases. The main development process includes thrombosis, lipid infiltration, inflammation, damage responses and oxidative stress. Currenttreatments include risk factors intervention, drug therapy, interventional therapyand surgical intervention, but drug therapy is still the basic treatment ofatherosclerosis. This experiment uses probucol, aspirin and statins together. Theeffects include anti-platelet aggregation, anti-inflammatory, lipid-lowering andoxidation stress can block the origin and development of atherosclerosis.Through the comparison of blood lipid level and the percent of vascularstenosis before and after treatment to investigate the effect of PAS therapy incoronary atherosclerosis.Experimental Purpose:To investigate the effect of PAS therapy (probucol、aspirin、statins) onpatients with coronary atherosclerosis.Experimental methods:Selected90patients with coronary atherosclerosis diagnosed by256-slicespiral CT examination were divided into PAS treatment group and AS controlgroup.45patients in PAS treatment group were treated with aspirin (100mg/d),atorvastatin (20mg/d) and probucol (5g/d).45patients in AS control groupwere treated with aspirin (100mg/d) and atorvastatin (20mg/d).Before and afterone year treatment, detected and compared the level of serum lipid levels andthe percent of vascular stenosis. Results:1.Blood Lipid Level: In PAS treatment group, before treatment TG(1.87士0.94)mmol/L、TC(4.94士1.01)mmol/L、LDL-C(3.36士1.05)mmol/L、HDL-C(1.14士0.35)mmol/L,after treatment TG(1.45士0.89)mmol/L、TC(3.01士0.55)mmol/L、LDL-C((1.62士0.42)mmol/L、HDL-C(0.95士0.27)mmol/L. In AS control group before treatment TG(1.77士0.87)mmol/L、TC(4.95士1.02)mmol/L、LDL-C(3.23士0.93)mmol/L、HDL-C(1.30士0.31)mmol/L, after treatment TG(1.25士0.54)mmol/L、TC(3.60士0.79)mmol/L、LDL-C(2.10士0.77)mmol/L、HDL-C(1.27士0.34)mmol/L.After treatment, the level of TC、TG、HDL-C、LDL-C was obviousreduced in PAS treatment group(P<0.01). The level of TC、TG、LDL-C wasobvious reduced in AS control group(P<0.01),but there is no significant changein HDL-C(P>0.1). The level of TC、LDL-C was obvious reduced in PAStreatment group than in AS control group (P<0.01),but the level of TG in twogroups has no difference(P>0.1).2. The Percent of Vascular Stenosis: In PAS treatment group, the percentof vascular stenosis before treatment was0.38士0.24, after treatment was0.21士0.22. In AS control group, the percent of vascular stenosis before treatmentwas0.39士0.25,after treatment was0.30士0.23. In both groups the percent ofvascular stenosis was significantly reduced and has statistical significance(p<0.01).But in PAS treatment group the reversal of coronary atheroscleroticplaques is more obvious than AS control group(p<0.01).Conclusions:1. PAS therapy is more effectively than AS control group in reduce bloodlipid levels and the percent of vascular stenosis.2. PAS therapy can reduce the percent of vascular stenosis effectively and achieve a reversal of atherosclerotic plaque.
