Objective To study the relationship between matrix metalloproteinase-9、 Ki67and D2-40express in squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue with different pattern of invasion. Methods65cases with squamous cell carcinoma samples of the tongue were classified into four groups according to the pattern of invasion described by Anneroth and Yamamoto et al, Immunohistochemical streptavidin-peroxidase method was employed to detect the expression of MMP-9、Ki67and D2-40in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC).Results The expression of MMP-9、Ki67and D2-40in tumor cells varied from the different pattern of invasion. The expression of MMP-9、Ki67and D2-40in squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue with invasion pattern III and Ⅳ was more distinguish than pattern I and II invasion, and The clinical findings showed that the rate of lymph node metastasis was easily involved in pattern Ⅲ and Ⅳ of invasion.Conclusion MMP-9、Ki67and D2-40was highly related with the invasion pattern of tongue squamous cell carcinoma(TSCC), the distinguish expression of MMP-9、Ki67and D2-40in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) might highly related with the invasion and early lymph metastasis.
