Study Of Toddalia Asiatica Lam On Hemostasis And Hepatoprotective Effect Of Chrysanthemum Parthenium

This paper is composed of four chapters. Chapter I, Study of the extract ofToddalia asiatica Lam on bleeding time and clotting time in mice. Chapter II, thehepatoprotective activity of extracts of Chrysanthemum parthenium Wereinvestigated using CCl₄-induced mice acute liver injury. Chapter III, Summarizedthe common hemostatic medicines and compound prescriptions. Chapter IV,summarized research status about Chrysanthemum parthenium.Chapter Ⅰ Toddalia asiatica Lam on bleeding time and clotting time in miceApillary glass tube method and slide method were used to observe theeffect of Toddalia asiatica on blood coagulation time in mice. Bleeding time wasobserved by broken mouse tail. Results showed that T. asiatica methanol extractcan shorten the bleeding time, the coagulation time of mice in vivo effect, hadobvious coagulation effect. T. asiatica ethyl acetate and petroleum ether extractsshowed anticoagulant effect, but many mice were died during experiment. Resultsindicated this two extracts may be toxic. Methanol extract of T. asiatica had thebest activity of blood coagulation function which didn’t correlate withconcentration of methonal extract. Active compounds of coagulation andmechanism should be researched for the next investigation.Chapter Ⅱ Hepatoprotective effect of Chrysanthemum parthenium usingCCl₄-induced mice acute liver injuryChrysanthemum parthenium ethanol extract and polysaccharide on liverinjury in mice induced by CCl₄function were assayed. High dose group of C.parthenium ethanol extract and polysaccharide significantly reduced the level ofserum GPT, GOT and showed protective effect. The level of MDA was significantly reduced in ethanol extract high dose group and the level of SOD wasincreased. Results indicated that lipid peroxidation was inhibited by C.Parthenium to protect CCl₄-induced mice acute liver injury.Chapter Ⅲ Summarized the common hemostatic medicines and compoundprescriptionsTraditional Chinese medicine used for hemostasis effect is rich in resources,variety, low price, low cost.
