Objective To evaluate the features of CT and MRI in the diagnosis of commoncystic tumors of the pancreas.Materials and Methods Analyzed retrospectively59cases of common cystictumors of the pancreas on MSCT and MRI material, male25cases, female34cases, age34to74years old, including serous cystic neoplasm (SCN)18cases, mucous sex cysticneoplasm (MCN)19cases, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN)22cases.Recorded the size, the site, the largest diameter of the capsule, calcification, center scar, wall nodules and solid component strengthening, cystic components, presence of dilatedpancreatic duct and the expansion range, whether the lesion communicate with thepancreatic duct. Compared the MSCT and MRI diagnostic accuracy of common cystictumors of the pancreas, and compared the MSCT post-processing reconstruction andMRCP in the IPMN diagnostic experiment, and the statistical analysis the data. Results SCN showed a lobulated mass as capsule small and more, with center fiberscar, solid component obvious strengthening, cystic components show more better onT2WI especially heavy T2WI. MCN showed a clear boundary cyst as capsule big and little.IPMN showed the lesions communicated with the pancreatic duct, the main duct-type werethe whole of the pancreatic duct expansion, and the side branch-type were a single capsule,it may be associated with the dilated pancreatic duct. MSCT showed10cases calcification,MRI only one case displayed. MRI showed center fiber scar (8cases), solid component orwall nodules (21cases), cystic components (59patients) were more than the number ofMSCT.38cases were diagnosed correctly by MSCT,47cases were diagnosed correctly byMRI. The rate of correct diagnosis were64.42%(38/59) and79.66%(47/59) for MSCT and MRI, the differences were statistically significant (χ2=7.11, P <0.05). With thediagnostic experiment standard, analysis22cases of IPMN, The Youden index of MSCTand MRI were respectively0.746and0.919.Conclusion (1) Both MSCT and MRI could show the characteristics of morphologyand blood supply of common cystic tumors of the pancreas, and were helpful to thedifferential diagnosis.(2) MSCT was superior to MRI in displaying the calcification in thewall cystic surrounding/center.(3) MRI was superior to MSCT in displaying in the cysticcomponents, space and wall nodules.(4) Compared with MSCT, MRI was higherdiagnostic value to IPMN.
