| ObjectiveThe study is to observe the effects of Therapy Supplementing Qi on Th1/Th2cell drift in patients with breast cancer who treated with adjuvant chemotherapy, which can provide a theoretical basis for further exploring the mechanism of Therapy Supplementing Qi in decreasing the toxicity but increasing the curative effect of chemotherapy by improving the internal environment of the tumor survival.MethodsRandomized controlled clinical trial was conducted. A total of68patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a trial group and a control group,34patients in each. Both groups were treated with6cycles of TAC regimen (21days/circle). The trial group received Shenqifuzhen Injection250ml/day from the first day of chemotherapy to the fourth day of chemotherapy within one treatment circle (21days/circle). The serum levels of Thl cytokines (IL-2, TNF-αã€IFN-γ) and Th2cytokines (IL-4, IL-6, IL-10) were measured by flow cytometry (FCM) before the first cycle of chemotherapy and the seventh day after the sixth cycle of chemotherapy, in order to observe the change of Th1/Th2cells drift in the two groups. The collected data were analyzed by statistical software SPSS17.0. Counted data compared between groups using chi square test, measurement data compared between groups using t testResultsThe serum levels of Th1cytokines (IL-2, TNF-αã€IFN-γ) of all patients decreased after chemotherapy, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). However, the Th2cytokines (IL-4, IL-6, IL-10) continued to display high expression without statistical significance (P>0.05), compared with those before chemotherapy. The serum levels of Th1 cytokines(IL-2, TNF-αã€IFN-γ) decreased, compared with those before chemotherapy in trial group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);the levels of Thl cytokines(IL-2, TNF-α, IFN-γ)were compared with those before chemotherapy in control group, and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The difference of the serum levels of Th2cytokines (IL-4, IL-6, IL-10) was not statistically significant (P>0.05) ether in trial group or control group, compared with those before chemotherapy. The difference of the levels of Thl cytokines (IL-2, TNF-alpha, IFN-γ) was statistically significant between trial group and control group after chemotherapy (P<0.05), while the difference of the levels of Th2cytokines (IL-4, IL-6, IL-10) was not statistically significant (P>0.05) between trial group and control group after chemotherapy.ConelusionsChemotherapy can reduce the level of Thl cytokines, but the level of Th2cytokines was highly expressed, which showed that the Thl drift to Th2and indicated that chemotherapy lead to further immune suppression.Shenqifuzheng Injection in the treatment of patients with breast cancer can improve the level of Thl cytokines and restrained its further reduction after chemotherapy, which suggested that Therapy Supplementing Qi can improve the body’s immune suppression and modulate immune disorder. The study can provide a theoretical basis for exploring whether the Thl/Th2shift will affect the efficacy of chemotherapy and the mechanism of Therapy Supplementing Qi in enhancing efficacy and reducing toxicity of chemotherapy. |
